Superchat Color customizes the colors used for YouTube Super Chat messages and their paid-message ticker. This policy explains what information the extension handles and how it is used.

Information the extension handles

On YouTube pages, the extension finds paid-chat message and ticker elements so it can apply the colors selected by the user. It reads the ticker element's inline background style to preserve YouTube's current ticker progress position. This processing happens in the browser. The extension does not read or collect chat message text, web history, or browsing activity.

The extension stores the active color choices and enabled setting using Chrome's storage.sync API. Chrome may sync these settings through the user's Google account to their other Chrome browsers when Chrome Sync is enabled. User-named color configurations are stored locally using Chrome's storage.local API.

How information is used and shared

The extension uses the page styling information only to display the selected colors on YouTube paid-chat elements. It uses saved settings only to restore the user's choices and provide the preview and saved-configuration features.

The extension makes no network requests to the developer or other services and includes no analytics or advertising. The developer does not receive, sell, or independently share this information. When Chrome Sync is enabled, Google processes synced settings as part of Chrome's Sync service.

User controls and retention

Users can change or reset the active colors, turn the extension off, and delete named configurations in the popup. Users can remove the extension through Chrome's extension settings. Active settings stored with Chrome Sync are subject to the user's Chrome Sync settings.

Limited Use

Superchat Color's use of information received through Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The extension uses information only to provide its disclosed color-customization purpose and its directly related settings, preview, and saved-configuration features.
